For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2016 Posts: 264 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2016 Posts: 264 | So with very poor compression in one cylinder for a while, and then sudden loss of all oil pressure the truck is parked. Took off pan to find no 1 & 2 bearings oozing a paper thin ribbon out the sides and a piece of a pushrod sitting in the bottom of the pan. The crank is darkened near the 2offending bearings. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,771 Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) | | Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,771 | Ouch! That's going to cause some major pocketbook trauma! What kind of engine? Jerry

Trying to source rebuild parts now. It was expected to do a top end and possibly freshen up the bottom soon but not until early next year. Con2 and m28 only other numbers cast on it, anybody able to help date it? | | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,771 Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) | | Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,771 | There are a couple of reasonably-priced 292 crankshafts on ebay, but they're in Oregon. Worth a look, maybe! Jerry

I don't think that is possible. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,771 Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) | | Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,771 | It might have an early cylinder head without the integral intake.
