Hi All,

I am mounting my 1950 cab onto the chassis. I have the rear shackle mounts installed but I realized after looking in the assembly manual that I am missing a nut plate. I checked the filling station and they do not have it. Does anyone have a picture of one and tell me which vendor has such a plate?

I think most guys just weld a nut on, or through bolt it (like I did)

I have two sets of these somewhere. I can't find them, so I made 2 of them out of 1/4 inch plate. I used the shackle as a guide for where to drill the holes, then tapped them for the bolts.
So I expect my original two sets to show up any day now. smile

The nice thing about nut plates, whether factory or shop made, is one can do.a lot of assembly oneself, rather than having to have another person to hold the nut or bolt.

'47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle.
'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed.
'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.

I run a long bolt through one of the threaded holes and place the threaded end in the hole in the floor from inside the cab so that I can use it to line up the hole for the first bolt coming in from the bottom. I snug that one down tight, remove the "alignment" bolt, then install the remaining bolt from the bottom.
