Hate to just paint them black. Trying to keep the outside close to the factory look. Thanks for your input!

Did some searching https://www.stovebolt.com/ubbthread...2192/Steel_wheel_color_for_1948_310.htmlSeems like black with two pinstripes might be the answer. What version of black, semi gloss, gloss, or?

Chevrolet did not.
The link shown in Grigg's post gives info on Chevrolet truck wheels/stripes, I think. | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 . | | . Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 | Ok, now the hunt for GMC wheel color info.
The dual wheels on my GMC seem to have been red, but I just assumed someone repainted them at some point. Perhaps red wheels were original? The cab was originally red. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 | | | | | | Joined: May 2007 Posts: 289 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2007 Posts: 289 | GMC during this time did not stripe the wheels while Chevrolet did. Looks like orig paint what's left of it. Body was iron oxide sadly | | |
