I'm going to have the body guy bring back the spare tire holder in pass fender. The previous people covered it and repainted...I want to get the well, the rod and pieces to do this. Where do I find them? Do they still make any of those parts? And what about the top piece that went over the tire, was it painted the color of the body or the fenders? thanks guys.

I haven't seen any aftermarket parts. Your best bet may be to advertise on the Board in the 'Parts Wanted' section.

What year do you have? I have a 56 with the spare tire well but I've never seen any top piece to cover the tire as you've suggested. I do have a vinyl cover over my tire tho.

I applaud your wanting to bring the original look back!

have a 36 chev 1/2 ton, and there is a piece of metal about 7" by 3" with rounded corners that fits on top of tire, it goes thru the rod that holds he tire in place. Guess it's swatmeets for me to find this stuff...

Bruce it is easy to make all the parts for the spare tire hold except for the top clamp ( somebody is reproducing the clamp which I believe is the same as 32 & 33 car, There is a large steel frame bracket under the fender that would be hard to duplicate, its held to the frame with 4 bolts. The top nut can be made from hex stock on any small lathe.

34 & 35 trucks are the greatest
