Getting ready to tackle replacing my center support bearing on the driveshaft. Do you press it on or hammer it on with a pipe?

Either way just make sure your on the "race" and not the bearing when putting it on. Some go on easy....some not so easy. Good luck.

If you have a driveline shop nearby take it to them that's what I did. Pressed old one off pressed new one on, 5 minutes, $5, although that was about 20 years ago!

The manual is helpful.

The bearing fits in a rubber sleeve/cushion and is pressed in the hanger/bracket.

I cut a strip of mud flap from big rig back in '82. I fit it right in place of the old rubber sleeve. It sill works great.

The old one slid right off and the new one slid right on. I bought a modern SKF bearing assby from RockAuto and had to add a 1.5" spacer and open up the bolt holes on the frame. Working good.
