I have a '56 235 car engine in my '53 3100, and I have the opportunity to get another 235 out of a '58 car. It would be nice to get it for a spare as long as there are no major differences. Starting in 1958 all blocks are drilled to supply oil to hydraulic lifters, whether they were used or not(part of the new oiling system mentioned above).
1958 will have center side mount provisions, you will not use or need.
Good choice for an engine.
