A small amount of oil is leaking at the top of the canister where the bolt holds the cover on. It is not leaking around the top of the canister where the big rubber ring is. For my truck, the washer that fits the stock oil drain plug is the same size that fits the filter bolt.

I replaced the gasket material that was in the 'cup' with a rubber washer from the hardware store and all is good.
