For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 28 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 28 | 59 I pick up the remaining parts I need for the conversion tomorrow. Sadly or jokingly I thought this would be ezee pezee.... Almost harder than tracking down the Napco driveline (at least it was all together on a pallet!!! lol).
I should have something to show you by the weekend. Although a PIA, the others I have talked to about this said they liked the way it turned out and are happy with the V8 ( I hope that kinda of talk doesn't get me banned... I kinda of like it here.. lol)

Be aware that nothing from the 235-6 can be used for the V-8 conversion with the possible exception of the clutch, depending on what V-8 flywheel you use. The V-8 conversion is one of the most popular subjects covered on this site. Lots of information here. I made up a spreadsheet several years ago listing the parts used in the conversion. If you think it is something you can use, send me an email and I'll send it to you. Depending on where you are in "socal" you could also look at mine. Fred Fred, I'm a newby and therefore not permitted to PM (i think). I would love to check out your research/spreadsheet listing parts used in the conversion. my email is [email protected]. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 28 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 28 | | | | | | Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 28 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 28 | Most of the sheet metal parts needed to convert my I6 truck to a V8 (factory style conversion). I understand there are many other ways to accomplish this conversion using electric fans w/shrouds and long water pumps. The V8 throttle linkage is already installed and it was suggested that I find a 3 core (V8) radiator as well. http://s1259.photobucket.com/user/bajabob56/media/IMG_36251_zpsomkdzjze.jpg.html?sort=3&o=8 | | | | | Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 28 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 28 | | | | | | Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 28 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 28 | Just a quick note to once again thank Cablesmill and his Stovebolt friend Marc for their help in tracking down the right parts to get me on the road just in time to get my baby girl to the church!!!! Thanks again guys. While she is a long way from complete, so far the cooling system is working well and the V8 conversion is a success!!!! Now if I can just get the panels to line up I will be good to go!!!! bb | | | | | Joined: Apr 2015 Posts: 336 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2015 Posts: 336 | Glad to hear you got her running so she could carry your daughter to the alter!!
