Can anyone please attach a picture or give me a clue on how the door check/hold open bracket fastens to the body? There is a hole in the door jamb but I dont know how the bracket fits in this rectangular hole.
Many thanks
Steve

You can lightly compress new ones in a vice - do not scuff - remove and install -- and once in apply grease lightly to both sides. Rubber will be toward inside cab. see pic.

Steve, the door check go behind the kick panel on the 41-46 truck. there should be a bracket that welds in the inside if the door and two tab come thru the hole that the check fits into. these is a stub that goes thru the tab and the round end of the check and lock in with a clip. you may have to play with the check to make sure you have it in correctly, it only goes two ways. the door tab may be missing, but Jim carter and Chevy of the 40 sell them. Good luck Jerry

My first prewar and it will not be my last. Done with the 40 for my best friend. Got a 46 (year I was born) to build for me.
