Hello

Starting to rewire 46 6 volt with a new wiring harness I got from one of the suppliers wiring is not one of my strong point s so I have a couple questions
First does the armoured cable from key switch go to the positive on the coil

Next in the harness there is a wire to go from the coil - to the distributor but this is not shown in the wiring diagram in the manual what post on the distributor does it go to points or condenser post or is it not used with the polarity switch

Hy 46chevinline6, in a negative ground vehicle the ignition wire would be attached to the positive + coil terminal, the wire from the coil negative terminal goes to the only connection at the distributor a male stud sticking out of a Bakelite block in the distributor housing, hope that helps.

Hey 3b I have 2 studs on the distributor one for condenser and 1 for the plate the points screws on to not sure which one do you no y they don't show that in the wiring diagram thx

I can't remember seeing one with 2 terms but some do have the cond. on the outside. They connect together so either term would work to go to the coil.

Hello wrenchbender Thx for input my condenser is on the inside of the distributor with the contact coming through the housing

I have never seen two wires coming out of the distributor on these old GM 6's. Haven't seen everything yet! Trying though!

I can't imagine what the other term is for but use the term. that goes into the dist that the points & cond. lead hook to. Maybe the extra term is for a ground.
