I have decided to work around the cab by stripping everything else, getting my seat done and searching for a windshield. The one for the truck is original, complete with wiper rubs and a little birdseye in the drivers side. I thought about refinishing it but don't know if the effort/results would be worth it. I found a local guy who can get a PPG windshield, light green tint w/ a darker shade strip at the top for $375 installed. It's a 62 truck and I already have all the seals and gaskets for the cab. I think that's a pretty good deal but wonder about the tinting. My original w/s glass says AS1 & L17 on either side of the glass name. The rear and side glass say AS2 & L17. They all seem to be lightly tinted green but its hard to tell looking through them though the edges have a definite green tinge. Would these markings I.D. the tinting? I am putting the truck back as close to original as I can. Was the shade band offered on the standard cabs and would it be acceptable to use it? Thanks, Bill. | | |
