I didn't think to ask this question. I just put the basic Dot 3 in it. That was about 2 months ago. So far so good. DOT 4 and DOT 5.1 will also work fine, the primary difference being the boiling point. You will want to stay away from DOT 5, which is a silicone based fluid that is not compatible with the DOT 3/4/5.1 glycol based.
