They don't list them, have '47's and '51-'54. Mine are not original, which ones do I buy?

Thanks

PS, buying SS, no cheap substitutes.

1949 1/2 ton with original huck brakes?

I think you have non-original brakes?

My guess is the 51-54 are for the original Bendix brakes?

Maybe someone will know if there is some other difference in parking brake "geometry" when the change to Bendix was made?

Tim, I miss-spoke, I was on the phone with Inline Tube ordering when he 'noticed' that there was no listing for '49. He said send me your old one and we'll make it up. My present cables are re-pops from 17 years ago or so. They are not the originals so in my original post here that is what I stated.

In reviewing the lengths there doesn't seem to be but 1/2" difference, although I don't know about attachment points for the lack of good pictures.

I think the difference is the "clip" that attaches to the lever arm(inside the brake drum/backing plate) for the Huck type bakes. The cables them self are about the same(not the driveshaft parking brake). Fig. 21 and yes it is a bad picture.: http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/shop/1947truck/47ctsm0510.htm
The "Bendix : http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/shop/1954truck/54ctsm0514.html
Fig. 24 A bit better pic.

I found my 11 year old receipt and I had bought one from American Classic Truck Parts, #ME156 '47-'55 Emergency brake cable.

I'll buy a pair and grease them up really good for use in the dd/only vehicle.

Can someone measure the length of their original Clevis Pins? Mine seem exceptionally long and produce a binding of the cable when the emergency brake pedal is released. Are these available from a hardware store? I'll have to check them out at the store armed with thread pitch/inch and bolt end size.
