When I was working on overhauling the steering box I noticed that big gap at the fenders to cab on each side near the top right before the hood. Looked it up in the Factory Assembly manual and see there is supposed to be a "fender skirt to body seal on each side. Has anyone replaced these ? If yes, where did you buy them?

Ronnie,

There is a different shaped plate on each side - inner fender to firewall filler panels:

This inner fender seal set contains foam seals that go around each plate:

I think Denny Graham posted nice photos of these in-place. Maybe someone will find that post?

I have another question: I just removed the front clip from my '52 Suburban. The driver's side has a fender-skirt bracket that interfaces the cowl to the fender. It has 3 captive nuts in it, and also has 3 clearance holes that bolt to the floorboard of the cab where the cab slants down to the transmission. Jim Carter has a repo part, MEB114, although they call it: "Park Brake Floor Bracket 1948-Early 1955 1/2 and 3/4 Ton". My passenger side analogous bracket is missing - (and know I know why my fender rattled so much!)

Anybody know where to get this part, being on the passenger side, they must have seen lost of rust but i don't see anyone who makes them -

Any help would be appreciated!

The passenger side DOESN'T have a bracket. The inner fender bolts to the floor board in three spots.

Tim - fortunately I still have the two sheet metal plates ( body seal retainers ) so yes, I'm looking for the rubber seal. Thanks for the information! It would be great to see that post you spoke of and I wonder if he used the staples to attach the seals as its shown in the assembly manual ? By the way, the sheet metal plates still have the holes from where the staples used to be ! This truck is the largest and most fun jig-saw puzzle I've ever had. Thanks again!
