For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 120 Member | | Member Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 120 | I have a 1959 gmc with a v8 emblem on the fender below the gmc emblem. Noone semes to be able to tell me anything about the emblem. i have never seen another one like it but it is obviously made for the truck. Can any one help or does anyone have any pics of this emblem | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | you should have a pic of the emblem, if you have the emblem! - you're talking to the wrong "noone's"! - I can tell you that because 59's could have had a V8 optionally, there would have been an emblem for the option like these GMCs on rob's site - pretty simple Bill | | | | | Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 120 Member | | Member Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 120 | so did the same v8 emblem come on gmc v8s from 1955-1959. Does any one know the production numbers on v8 trucks | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | you'd hafta find some trucks of each year w/ the emblems to see if it changed at all - I doubt you'll find production breakdowns like engine type - for those years all I've ever seen for GMC is total truck production for the year including all series [sizes/weights], tho it's a safe bet that prolly less than a quarter had V8's especially the 1/2 and 3/4Ts
