I am looking for a replacement (assuming I have some parts worn that are not included in a master rebuild kit) My question is, does the SM420 case out of a 1/2 ton have all the mounts for the park brake setup, or was there a difference in the case used on the different tonnage trucks? (I am assuming they are all the same case, and I can just replace the rear yoke with my park brake hub and yoke and bolt the rest of the linkage up. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,212 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,212 | Mike, There are different Main Case casting numbers throughtout the life of the SM-420 that I can't explain. Could be when internal bearings changed sizes or if they added a threaded bolt hole for a bracket...who knows? That said it looks like the rear bearing retainer should bolt on to the same vintage case... Mike B | | |
