I've had good luck painting all of my seat springs with Krylon Semi-Gloos Black (rattle can paint) after they were sandblasted. The Fire Engine was done over 13 years/30,000 miles ago and it still looks great!

I prefer Krylon and ACE hardware brand. and not very fond of Rustoleum. I used Krylon on my springs. Mike

I personally like rustoleum's black engine enamel, it does well (for me)on so many different applications

I've been using VHT black epoxy paint on some odds and ends, and while it takes a couple of coats to do it per the instructions, the things I have painted with it have turned out nice.

Here is a description of what I did.
I do not know if is a good technique, but it sounded good (and looked good).

Just get more paint than you think you will need as the overspray is astounding when trying to shoot all of those little wire coils.

I painted mine with a brush, took a while but I got good results and saved a bunch of paint.
