I have a 93 Chevy K3500 chassis I want to put the cab on if I can do it without cutting the cab. Can anyone help? | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,877 . | . Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,877 | Frame rails are 36" outside to outside and begin to taper in part way under the cab. The cab is about 3-4" wider than the frame at the back edge where it nestles around the frame.
You should also measure the width of the front axle/tires and compare that to original, the newer model truck will be wider and even if it might just fit it will look a little strange with tires trying to get out of or already escaping the fenders. | | | | Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 140 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 140 | Not worried about track width at all. Its a 4x4 so its going to have monster tires on it anyway. That's why I'm going with a big bolt with its large wheel openings. My dually frame is 46-1/4" inches wide under the cab...would like for someone to actually measure one.

Knowing the original frame is 36" I'm sure a 46" frame won't fit in the same place without trimming at least the back of the cab/corners. | | | | Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 140 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 140 | I measured my 55 2nd series and the frame on it is 34" and the cab opening is 47". Quite a bit wider than the stock frame and it would work. Was hoping the earlier cabs were that much wider than the frame also. | | |
