For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 10 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 10 | I have a '42 1 1/2 ton that's been stored for about seven years. There's been antifreeze leaked onto the the tarp under the truck for a few years now and antifreeze in the frame under the water pump. The engine was running well and I never had to deal with the water pump before. Does anyone have advice about these water pumps? Thanks

Unless you have a full machine shop and a lot of experience, don't even think about doing a rebuild. It requires a press and some specialty tools, and repair kits are just about nonexistent. The same pump fits about a 25-year span of stovebolt engines, all the way up to the 1954 model 235 and just about all the 216's. The only difference is the width of the pulley on late model 216's and 235's. Jerry
