Anyone have a reliable and relatively quiet 228, 248, 270 or 302 for my '53 GMC? The one I have runs ok but is quite noisy and has a knock. I don't have the expertise myself to tear it apart to rebuild. Might consider paying to have it rebuilt if I knew of someone locally around Maple Ridge that would do it.

Noisy? Knock? You may just have loose/leaky exhaust manifold.
