What type of flasher do I need and how do I test the system before hooking it up? Thanks! It's still a 6 volt neg ground . | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 Bubba - Curmudgeon | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 | | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,440 Extreme Gabster | Extreme Gabster Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,440 | I would guess a 4 wire would be one wire for flasher input, one for pilot light, one for both left lights and one for both right lights. If so it needs a 3 prong flasher it you want the pilot light to work. This tech tip tells how to determine what wire is what. | | | | Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 1,747 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 1,747 | That is a good looking Art Deco switch. 4 wire switch works with separate turn signal lights. More wires on the integrated brake/turn signal system. The switch is pretty enough to possibly add the extra lights in the back.

I want to test the whole system before installing. I think I have the wrong flasher. I need to make sure it works before install.

Very good idea - bench testing the wiring/components.
Good luck - please report back with results of both the test and the installation. | | |
