I am hoping this is the right forum. I purchased a 1940 truck from a Iowa dealer. Tons of pics, etc. When it arrived, I saw that all 4 fenders were welded on. (4 spot welds each) The front fenders did not have the fender mounted hole for the park lights) I saw they were missing in the pics, but being a 1940, they were just missing, right. I checked under the fender, maybe they used bondo on holes. Nothing, smooth as a baby's butt. The dealer claims they are correct fenders and maybe they were replaced, but are correct, He also, claimed that 1939 fenders fit this truck. Not so. He also claimed someone at Jim Carter Classics told him 1939 fenders fit the 1940. ( which I don't believe for a second) I sent him attachments from Chevy Manufacturing that states the above. Have not heard from him yet. All I want are correct fenders. Can someone direct me to more areas where I can see this and send it to him. I am not giving up on this. I bought thru Ebay, which helps.
