My 50 was in an accident and passenger side kinda wiped out. Found a virtually rust free 47 cab in the panhandle of TX.

Trying to determine which would be best. Converting my 50 chassis to a center mount for the rear of the cab, or converting the cab to the later two rear corner mounts

Seemed like the later version would provide better support?

My vote, convert cab to 50 style 2 rear point.

It was updated because the original 47-48 led to support cracking issues on the front sheet metal. To be honest we don't use our trucks like they did then. The best reason to convert is the mid-49 to 1st Series 55 has replacement parts availability. The center shackles and support bumpers are very difficult to source and repair.

Bumpers are not reproduced, ultra rare NOS.

Typical rear shackle set and shims, requires drilling and support plates behind seat pan, two holes each side to in frame.

Guess it would not be that hard to cut the dual set up off the 50 and fab to the 47 cab

That is the way I will go
