For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Dec 2011 Posts: 42 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Dec 2011 Posts: 42 | The wheels on my 1959 1/2 ton have these three tabs on the outside of the hub that are part of the wheel. I've been wondering if these are the original wheels? Photos that I've fond of other Apache / Task Force trucks do not have these three tabs. Is there any significance to the tabs? https://swenracer.smugmug.com/Trucks/59-Apache/i-p2Wb4RL/AThanks in advance for any help on this. | | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,438 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,438 | Those wheels started appearing in the 1961 model year. The nubs hold the hubcap.

They were available in 15" or 16". The 6 clip version is from late 40's early 50's and are narrower do than the three clip. Three clip https://goo.gl/photos/NwRWRYFof5FFsj4w9
