I picked up a 1950 3800 dually.
Since I got it I've replaced the plugs, points (set the proper gap), replaced the condenser, tank, fuel lines, fuel pump and a rebuild kit for the carb. Checked the float levels, they are good.
My problems are: small fuel seepage out of the top half of the carb. (New gasket) there is some pitting around the bolt holes.
The truck starts up great, little choke, couple pumps and she fires right up. It idles nice sounds pretty good too. But as soon as I try to give it gas it burps and sounds like it's not getting fuel. I can ease into but it dies out if I go any quicker on the pedal.
Any and all help would be much appreciated.

Try advancing the timing a few degrees, and also check for vacuum leaks. Run an unlit Propane torch around the intake and carburetor base gaskets to see if it's sucking air anywhere except right down the carburetor throat. How does it respond with the choke knob pulled partway out? Jerry

I'll have to double check the timing and give the propane torch a shot, thanks for there'll,
I'm new to these trucks and just getting to know how they work.

The accelerator pump (dashpot) is exactly what is engineered to prevent what you describe. Not sure what carb you have, but if a required check ball isn't in the right spot, or spots, the accel. pump won't work. Some have linkage that has to be on in the right direction or it won't work. General mechanical ideas that apply to most carbs. This may be yours...it is a Rochester 1 bbl carb. The Accel. linkage is in red. Make sure it is connected as as seen and moving when you open the throttle. https://www.dropbox.com/s/y6418pvvhfz00lq/Rochester%20B1.png?dl=0Larry W.
