Anybody have any idea what or where rear axle center line would be on a 1955 series one 1/2 ton pickup? I understand this was a weird model year because they used 2 different frames, outside frame spring mounts and under frame spring shackle hookups. My truck I believe was under frame, no mounts on side of frame. I am looking to install a decent rear that would work with a 5.3 LS.

Its an AD built in Atlanta Ga.march of 1955 I realize GM had the centerline 2 inches forward we want it centered as soon as we find a rear that will work. I should have marked the center before I removed old rear.

I do not think it matters that much unless there fenders that should have the tires centered which a 1.5 ton does not have.
