One has a 292 and the other has an inline 6 much larger than the 292. Is it possible Chevy used a GMC 302? Or, is there a larger inline Chevy than the 292? I checked American classics for vin #'s but they only cover the 1/2 ton trucks. I have digital photos of the engine but I can't figure out how to post them. Thanks for the help | | |

For your engine id, if you go to Inliners.org and go their casting number section you should be able to id your engines. Casting number on older Chevy sixes are above the starter, I don't know about the GMC or newer chevy six.
