I saw some threads that indicated different brake and driveline assemblies were used and parts were not compatible between the manufacturers.

On my '46, The Canadian built GMC's shared the driveline with the Chevy's, but the American built GMC's had a different engine completely. Many small parts were different, much more than you would think. Many interchange though.
