When someone tells me I'm Crazy. I look them straight in the eyes and say, "You know, I really wonder about that sometimes".
Then they tend to move away from me.

And another one when someone tells me I'm crazy.
I tell them,
"You are crazier than I am".
They then ask why?
"Your with me aren't you?"

Well all joking aside, it really doesn't matter what folks think. I know the truth ... You guys *are* weird. And crazy.

I haven't met you, yet, Bearsfan, but you're probably as nutty as they are.

big_eek

MobileOrtho -- If we figure out what time we're getting there, we can probably meet up with you to go in to the show. I don't remember the driving time from Horne's ... 90 minutes? 2 hours??

Just back tracking a little .... we need a little more of a plan here.

What time and where are we meeting to rally?

Is there a lunch plan?

What time are we going into the show as a group and when/where are we meeting to do that?

If we have a few coming, it might not be a bad idea to contact the organizers of the show to make sure it's okay to show up as a group and park together.

Thanks!

John

Who all will be paying for a parking spot in the show?

The day of the show, registration is from 0800 - 1100.
The show is from 1000 - 1500.
$15 for the mail in registration prior to March 17, 2016.
$20 for the day of registration.
If you need an application, let me know and I'll send you one (will need an email address to go with that request)

The event coordinators will not hold spots for a group parking, they will park you as you arrive so a time of arrival needs to be established. If people are arriving at different times and from out of town then the Dunkin Doughnuts is a great idea. Arrive together/park together.

If you can't make a rondevu, that’s okay, show up at the car show and you'll be welcomed with open arms; well maybe not a hug but a hand shake for sure.

If you are going to park in public parking then they'll park you where they can fit you or you'll park where you can find a parking spot.

I'm sure that there will be food vendors so the lunch issue is taken care of...grab a plate, pull out your lawn chair and bask under the glory of the ol' Stovebolt flag.

i am hoping to show up to put a few faces to names, and hang out with the crew... if we do lunch i am good with that, if not, still good.

In 2007 I was still listening to my '52 rusting to the ground in the driveway. I was still several years from discovering what a stove bolt was, let alone what Stovebolt.com was all about.

Well, still .... Carl, I just responded to your PM -- thanks. But for those of us who are coming a ways *because* we want to meet up with everyone and hang together ... (MobilOrtho's comments being quite germane ... smile ) If we have to be in the show before 1100, how about we meet at 10 somewhere (Like the Dunkin Donuts? Is that handy??) and then go in to the show together as a group? That way, we can be in a group and get our socializing done.

I'm looking forward to visiting with the Southern VA gang, meeting some new 'Bolters and looking at each others' trucks.

Thanks,
John

According to one of the earlier posts, you have to be to the show before 11 to be "in" it. So, if we meet at 10 at Dunkin Donuts, we should easily be to the show before 11. Yes?

Now, several DD were mentioned. Which one is THE one ... we'll need the address.

Thanks,
Peg

Here is the NEW PLAN.
-Meet at 10:00 at Dunkin Donuts at 6605 George Washington Memorial Hwy, Yorktown, VA 23692. This will be our staging area to assemble prior to cruising to the Show as a group. (If you can't make it by 10:00, just head to the York High School Car Show at 9300 George Washington Memorial Highway Yorktown, VA 23692.
Looking forward to seeing everyone! It should be quite a display all of us showing up at this little show.

Good intel. Thanks Carl.

Yes, you are right about the "display." A few years ago, we went up to a car cruise in near Baltimore. It was lots and lots of cars, and they just gather every Sunday morning from 9 to noon, or something, in this medium-size plaza. Well, some of the ODSS decided to "visit" ... I'm not exactly sure but I'm guessing there was about nine of us with our trucks, including two fire trucks and Bill Marlow's Chevy COE. Everyone in the entire parking lot looked over our way to watch us parade in. It was just so fun and funny. We cruised to a spot where we could all park, and people flooded our way. There actually were a few other trucks there, and those guys moved their trucks to come park near us.

It was very cool. And made me think that these "car shows" need to be "car and truck shows" ... even if we need to just nudge ourselves in some.

Will be fun.

Peg

Is this really the forecast for Saturday?

Saturday...Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers in the morning... Then partly sunny with a chance of showers in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 60s. Chance of rain 30 percent.

Saturday Night...Partly cloudy. Lows in the lower 50s

On weather.com, it said the forecast had expired. At least you all won't be getting snow!! And it will be warmer there than here ... if the forecast is right.

Just saw the forecast. 54 degrees with rain holding off until the PM. I don't know if that means at 12:01 or 18:01, and I'll bet they don't know either. I personally believe that we will be just fine.

ok, I am game with any plan, I will be driving the Modern New to me 13 Terrain.

Will try to meet you all at the DD by 10am, then follow everyone in, park in the Loser lot and meet up with everyone on the other side wink trying to motivate my son to come along...

Anyone from VA knows the weather changes every 15 Minutes, but as of now, they say 50% rain at noon, increasing from there. 50' at noon and then dropping off from there, low to 40's that night.

Charlie is ready to roll! You will all get a chuckle over what we've had to do to get Charlie to run correctly ...

We'll be passing the mailbox about 0659 or so. Hopefully I won't have a Pegsicle in the truck with me ... smile Meeting Sweet and 4Brads enroute and meet you guys at the rendezvous about 10-ish.

See you tomorrow!

GREAT seeing y'all at the York High School car show. It was neat to see the trucks parade in and people turning to look... Also nice just to have a laid back venue and some cool classics to check out. I will post something this week with some suggestions for future gatherings. Great job 52carl for bringing this together. Catch y'all later I've got to get out to the shop and weld on Lola (40 Buick)... PS - Made it home before the rain! (yeah). Later...

Thanks Bearsfan -- Great to see everyone again and meet some new ones.

MobileOrtho -- It was nice to chat ... for a moment ... hopefully you can make it up here for Homecoming or some other event this year.

Carl -- your lunch was delicious -- thanks again! smile

It was a nice drive down and back (Peggy may disagree, but at least her hypothermia was correctable ... smile )

And speaking of hypothermia, As you can see in a few of the pictures, the prototype for our new Custom-fitted carburetor icing preventing Thermal Protection System was a huge success.

Sweet and I are proud and thrilled to announce that we are now making available our "Carb Beanie" -- a custom-fitted Thermal Protection System -- in kit form! At a very low introductory offer of $275.00 (Sorry, but we have to add a $350 surcharge for orders going to MO), we will send you a TPS kit. We'll even include, at no additional charge, a 40-page installation instruction booklet (easy to read) and a short video!

Stuck flapper valve?? Who cares???!!!! Dress up your carburetor with a shiney aluminum-looking (all the rage these days) bit of flash AND Solve your carb icing issues *today* with our new TPS!

Thank you for a wonderful day at the ODSS Yorktown, Va. I'm Tim number 7.

It was nice to meet the local Tidewater Stovebolters, their trucks and put a face with a name. Thank you Peggy for the cards. Larry is #8 who lives up the road in Richmond and was my road guide.

Jerry, I like the way you did the group shot with the numbers. Good attention to detail. It will be good to get Jim (safetynut) in there!

The pix are great. It was fun. It was cold but not as cold as it had been and we didn't get snow. On the ride home, we just had a little drizzle and the rain-x did the trick on the windshield so we didn't even need to use the wipers.

Good fun.

Well shucks Fred. You old joker, you.

Since Jerry had on all this Chicago Bears attire, I wish I had grabbed either my USMC garb or at least the Green Bay Packers cap. I'm at least glad I wore my lined jeans! Would you believe first time I wore them all year and it was the LAST day of winter.

That's right folks, the TPS is a revolution in carb atomization technology. For those of you who have multiple carbs we also carry TPS bulk packs, please contact us for pricing.

Yesterday was I day I needed for a while. Jim Brad (number 05 in the photo) met early yesterday and we took a quick jog to our meeting place with the MD bolters. Charlie with his new TPS system was running an excellent pace, so well in fact that Corvettes had a problem keeping up. Yes that's right folks, Sir Charlie had taken another step in his journey and is now keeping modern Vettes in his wake.

I had a blast on the trip to/from Yorktown and the event itself was fun. As always too short and look forward to seeing most a few weeks from now at Homecoming.

Great to catch up with Jim as my co-pilot and see familiar faces and meet new ones. My favorite part of this website.

John M, the 3/4 portion of my dinner which you consumed is generally the toxic part of a typical Mexican food meal for me, so THANK YOU! I hope that it stayed in you longer than 20 minutes.
