I am taking apart my drivers door to replace the door latch. I came upon some fasteners I have never had before. They have a recession that resembles a dog bone. What are they called so I can purchase the bits to remove them.

Clutchhead screws. You can find the bits in some places and always look in the old hardware stores for a set of drivers. Any Chevy/GM garage needs a set. Don't throw the screws away.

If you do much work on your truck, you will encounter up to 3 different size clutch head screws. If you haven't purchased any drivers yet, Jim Carter Truck Parst has a real nice set of them. I feel stupid for asking but where on his page would you find them? I've looked and cant seem to find them. I'm sure if they were a snake I would of been bitten several times.

Your local hardware stores might have a "security bits" set that include at least 3 clutch head bit sizes.

Look in the Links section here. Almost all the reproduction parts vendors also sell clutch head bits.

Try your local RV camper store. The camper industry used clutch heads long after the auto industry did.
Usually right on the shelf.
