on the side of a 58 fleetside bed (the bottom of the bullet)
no chrome strip holes to follow, just a gental curve.
Measuring will be difficult i.e. have to go around the bullet to do it.

They make adhesive pads to stick them to different objects. Just a thought.
The only there way that I have seen it done is by eye. Start the stripe where you want it and then pull 2, 3, 4 feet out and lightly position it, go 2,3, 4 feet more and do the same. Make sure that you have some tention on the tape so when it is right and the press it down it dosen't bunch up in the middle or end. Good luck.

It's a "bucket" or can of some kind with a long clear tube out of the bottom. Place the end of the tube ABOVE the level of the bucket and fill the bucket with water. Now position the bucket so that the water in it is at the level you want the line to be. Take the open end of the long tube any where along the truck and the water level there will be at the same level as in the bucket.
This is how you "scirbe the water line" when you build a boat upside down.(Wooden Boats mostly) There are NO STRAIGHT LINES on a boat and this works great. Sometimes a little food coloring in the water helps, too.

Than he pulled away and out the remainder of the car or panel without sticking it. lined it up and stuck it down. I have ben trying to mask round corners in my house for straight lines and have been having a tough time. My wife watches trading spaces OUCH | | |
