Yes, you will need/want a tachometer that matches your number of cylinders.

Some have a 4-6-8 cylinder selection switch.

The way to find out is to ask the seller if the truck had 6 in it.

The eBay title states: "73 72 71 70 69 68 Chevy C50 C10 speedometer cluster tach gauges dash"

The description states: "Chevy C50 big truck, around a 72 vintage"

Presumably, a C50 might have been equipped with either a 6 or an 8 cylinder engine. However the eBay listing states: "This was pulled from a Chevy C50 big truck, around a 72 vintage. The truck is long gone, this was pulled before it was crushed."

Too many unknowns?

Materman,

If it is indeed from a C50 truck, and if a C50 truck might have had either a 6 cylinder or 8 cylinder engine, you might want to steer clear of that tach?
