Hello,

Dale passed away unexpectedly on December 30, 2015. What a nice man he was, and he was responsible for organizing the Classic Chevy Cameo & Suburban Pickup Club. I was member #540.

Hope he is cruisin in heaven in his 1955 Chevrolet Cameo Carrier!

Dale Mayeaux Obituary

Dale Michael Mayeaux, loving father, grandfather, son and brother, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, in Torbert, Louisiana. Raised in Marksville, he surrounded himself with friends he grew up with and met along the way. A Vietnam veteran, the 68-year old retired from Entergy Gulf States and for the past ten years, he filled his time with hobbies he enjoyed - working on old trucks, hunting, and being with his family and friends. He recently completed a restoration on "Pop's Truck," his father's 1955 Chevy Cameo, and was looking forward to finishing the hunting season and teaching his grandson to hunt. Dale was a member of Ramblin' Oldies of Denham Springs and a founding member of the Classic Chevy Cameo & GMC Suburban Pickup Club. He was generous, patient and always willing to help a friend in need. He believed in going and doing while you could. He will be missed more than the words printed here can express. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Joyce Grogan Mayeaux; two daughters, Candace Mayeaux Tucker and son-in-law Chet, and Stacy Mayeaux Roberts and son-in-law Jerry; one sister, Sandra Mayeux Rea; and one grandson, Parker Roberts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louden and Lorene Mayeux. In lieu of flowers please give to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Heart Association. Visiting will be held on Saturday January 2, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lakeland, La. from 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial in the church at 11 am. Conducted by Rev. Todd Lloyd. Entombment to follow in the church mausoleum.

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard, or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to The 'United States of America', for an amount of "up to and including my life."
