Maybe someone will comment/confirm. It looks like they can be "interchanged". Someone will have to confirm that the 228 clutch housing will work, or if you will have to change to your 1953 Chevrolet truck clutch housing. Most likely, you will have to use the 228 clutch assembly. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 1,714 back yard wrench turner | | back yard wrench turner Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 1,714 | The GMC is longer by about 1 inch. The front motor mount has to move forward. The radiator also will need to be moved. I have a 292 but thinking it might need to much modifications to make it fit. That maybe the 228 would be easier | | | | | Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 1,901 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 1,901 | Think again. The 228 is 2" longer. Do search there's plenty of info on them both.
Give me ambiguity or give me something else

Need to move the radiator into the radiator support(grille support). Several px here, look through last month's posts.
Parts are just as aviable for a 302 as a 228, so, may as well get more displacement.

Let me know if you have any questions.
