There have been questions posted about whether or not there is a factory fan shroud for a 235. As I understand it, they were available for 1955-59 3600's and 3800's as part of the heavy duty cooling option and came with the larger trucks with the 261. I've never seen one until I finally found one on a '57 6400 with a 261.
The 6400 had front end damage, so unfortunately the shroud was damaged but repairable. The 6400 had the larger radiator, but it was damaged beyond repair. It also had the factory 5 blade 20" fan.
The case for the larger radiator included brackets to mount the shroud. I wish that I could have saved the radiator because it would have been a direct bolt-in to my '57 3600, but it was shot. I cut the brackets off the radiator case and mounted them (direct bolt in) using my radiator mounting bolts and 3/8" spacers. The fan and shroud fit perfect.
Posting in case anyone wants to see that it is possible to have a shroud with a 235.
The 261 from the 6400 is in my shop, but that is a project for another day...
