Curious if this can be accomplished.
Doing a "SortaRestore" on a 49' tonner panel, And I have a complete 57' 3800 p/u that I plan on transplanting the drivetrain. (235...4spd)
I believe the frame rail width is different.
Just looking for some input.

I expect one way or another you can swap what you want, start with your tape measure.
What advantage does the 58 rear axle offer you?

No advantages, I have a complete 57' that I will be using the entire driveline from for the 49' project.
Being it has less miles...(still need to check condition), I wanted to keep the parts that were together... well together.
Possible different ratio?
