Anyway, when I got it it didn't have a bed, well, it has three pieces of wood that were part of the wooden flatbed somebody built long before I was born so my question is should I build a flatbed or try to find a stepside bed? I can build a very nice flatbed if need be, and is albeit cheaper for me, but would it be better to put a factory built bed on it? thoughts? Richard

I got it on a long frame but also came with a short bed roller frame so I switched the cab over .... IMO I would make it a fleet side if you would like to make money with it , I soon realized that the short bed fleetside are a rare bird , but the long bed seems also to be a little rare but the long boxes are easily found , especially in your neck of the woods Dan | | | | Joined: Apr 2002 Posts: 2,168 A teacher, but always an apprentice. | A teacher, but always an apprentice. Joined: Apr 2002 Posts: 2,168 | I agree that it would sell better with the box. But I know that around my neck of the woods stock boxes and fenders in any form of decent shape are impossible to find. How much are you willing to put into a box for a quick flip? I would clean her up, make it shiny (ish), clean the fuel system, do a little engine exam (compression, etc), get it running and then sell it. I had planned on "I'll keep one and then sell the other," and then found myself building two trucks. Be careful! | | | | Joined: May 2012 Posts: 574 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: May 2012 Posts: 574 | been a while since I could do more than pop in and out on here, sorry about that... IF I can find a fleetside longbox I most definitly will go that route as they seem to sell a little quicker around here, funny thing is all I seem to be finding are shortbox beds for the moment, but a decent $250ish longbox is somewhere out there for me to find, just gotta be patient............
