on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 24 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 24 | I'm not sure if this is the right forum or not, but the electrical forum didn't allow for new posts, so here goes.
I have a 1951 AD 3/4 ton. It has one left tail light that is mounted on the forward side of the back stake pocket. That position may be original or it may have been moved to there to make way for some equipment that was added later.
The new bracket and tail light that I ordered from Chevy Duty for the right side doesn't stick out from the truck far enough to allow me to mount it in the same position. I have mounted the right tail light on the back side of the stake pocket but that seems to position the light too far out the back of the truck (although it may just be an illusiuon as I have no rear bumper).
I've tried looking at all the similar trucks in the gallery and they seem to be split over whether or not the tail light bracket is mounted ahead of the stake pocket or behind it.
Any comments?
Thanks

I took a few pictures of my tail lights when some one recently asked a simliar question. There is album of " Tail Lights " on my Webshots Page... Click here to get there .... Perhaps Chevy Duty did not send you the correct bracket for the right side ??

I was looking for the "right" answer, and it looks like maybe there isn't one. My left tail light is like Tony's and my right tail light is like 53 4 Me's. I'll have to do a little customizing of the bracket to get them both the same.
Thanks again!
