Maybe I could find a running board that I could cut a patch out of? I used them a few yrs, probably 7yrs now!) The tread pattern matches about 95% close. Let us know if they are still available? My trucks is a 1950 AD, which year is yours?

I found cutting along the edge of a corrugation valley or ridge rather than the middle of a valley or plateau made things much easier.
It's easier than patching in a large flat panel, that's for sure.
So I guess I'm saying find another trashed running board with enough good metal to work with and don't concern yourself with 'If it's Right' from the supplier.
Give me ambiguity

I cut out about 18" x6" and then couldn't find a patch piece. I even placed a wanted ad here with no luck. I have a bead roller but could get the spacing or dies to match. I have since bought fiberglas replacements. I still have both steel boards that I will play with when time allows. Good luck and have fun

I was lucky enough to find a pair of good 3/4 ton running boards. So, I still have the ones that need work. It would take someone a lot better than me to make them work...ends are cut off, etc.
BUT, they would be good for parts/pieces. If you let me know what you need, size, etc. maybe I can cut it off and get it wo you.
