Good news for the close of 2015! My EC-302 (early 1947) with a factory 248 came back to life yesterday, after a 10 year sleep. I am impressed at how smooth it runs and holds 40 PSI oil pressure. It smoked for a bit then cleared out as it warmed up. Now that I feel confident that it is healthy mechanically, I will get after the brakes, which at this moment do not work. I have a set of correct wheel cylinders and a replacement dual master cylinder, for a brake upgrade. If needed, I am prepared to do king-pins and have a full set of Snap-On adjustable reamers to get the job done right. I have a full set of new rubber to put on when it gets a bit warmer as I plan to repaint all the wheels. Does anyone have good thoughts on conversion to 12 volts? Should I buy an EBAY kit of buy all the bits and pieces and hope I get it all right?

Congratulations, Big Al
Happy New Year

". . . good thoughts on conversion to 12v"?

Do you need 12v?
If not, get your 6v system up-to-snuff. It can be just as reliable as a 12v system.

Don't forget, it is Pos. Ground now. Easy to change for alternator, etc.

I am anxious to get work done on the brakes....but it is to COLD. That will have to wait for a few weeks, I am afraid. I am not totally sold on 12 volts, may yet try to live with 6 volt. Time will tell.
