The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Engine Shop fuel pump ?

I believe you need to press it off. I haven't done the one for the truck yet but when I did my 57 Olds it had to be pushed out with an arbour press with an adapter I made to push the head back through the plate. I'll look for some pictures of the set up I used.

Here is how I pressed the shaft out

Once it was out I had to straighten the washer out and then replace the diaphragm and reassemble.
I bought the kit from Hal at http://www.classicpreservation.com/fuelpumpkits.html
It came with full directions to do the rebuild.
