On my '55 2nd series 3100, (It is the fancy cab with all the chrome trim and knobs.) I have two holes in cab by windshield for sun visors. Not sure if the are original or if at some point someone just put a set of visors in. Did these truck originally come with a set of visors, or just a drivers side visor, or did someone just cut and drill holes? Cabs shipped from the factory without the right visor were not pre-drilled. The TF visor requires a large hole (about 1-1/2") in the middle of 3 screw holes...wouldn't look good if the visor wasn't installed. Those holes are in my 1954 cabs.
Only the driver's visor ("sun shade") was standard in 47 to 49/50 cabs/trucks. The passenger side sunshade was an accessory in all cabs/trucks in these years.
From 51-55st, the passenger side sun shade was standard on Suburbans - it was an accessory on all other models.

" That explaines it, thanks! The TF trucks did get 4 little dimples in the sheet metal to know where to drill the holes. That might clear the water for anyone asking about this again,
thus avoiding pages of questions and supposition.
The hardest part adding a visor to an AD's cab, is guessing
at just exactly where the factory put the holes behind the
head liner.
