How does this fender welt stuff work. I am putting on my rear fenders and ordered some fender welt from Chevy Duty. Am I supposed to punch holes in it where the bolts go and just follow it along the line of the fender. Do I use some type of adesive to attach it to the fender?

Whenever I have done fender welting,be it a Mack or a F**D,you typically punch holes for the bolts,just keep them an even distance form the edge,cut "V" cutouts on the inner edge so it can bend a tight radius.The Mack factory had it stapled to the headlight panels.So,if you glue it,you are not too wrong,as long as it does not show.

Ive seen it notched (v's cut out of it) where the bolts go and to make it seat properly. When i was a kid we used to use tar paper for welt but that wont do for most today.
