We are restoring a 41 AK and the bench seat was roached. Can anyone tell me if they have had any luck with putting in a newer type seat in something similar? The dimensions I got from a manual on line show the seat to be 50 inches wide in the back and 49 inches wide towards the front. I was wanting to go with like a 40 20 40 but can't find anything even close to that dimension. I have moved the gas tank from under the seat to inside the frame. I would really appreciate any help. If not too rusted, the seat frames can be repaired and reupholstered.

I have heard through the grape vine that an Alfa 153 rear seat will fit onto the original frame pretty easily. That will give you a newer more comfortable seat and head rests.
