I tried to do a little research on the subject and found very little independant study on the web about its effectiveness, other than what the manufacturer claims. It should protect against some galvanic corrosion, as long as the effort is made to electrically ground all body panels and parts together. The problem occurs if the system is improperly installed. If the potential is backwards it can accelerate corrosion instead of preventing it. There is also some argument about whether moist air is actually an electrolyte or not and whether the system even protects if its not submerged in water.
