I have a 58 Apache that came to me with what I believe are none original rims. They are 15" rims but the center lip where a hubcap would fit in is different than what I believe an original 58 should be. There seem to be four pronounced bumps on the outside edge of the center lip of which two are larger and have a deep groove in them as seen in these pics.

What I would like to put on my truck are the original dog dish hubcaps like these here.

I was hoping I could install the metal clips and make these original style caps fit on my wheels. I do not have an original cap in hand to see if it would physically fit in the center but I did take some measurements of my wheels. The inner circle diameter looks to be 7.75" as seen here.

The outer diameter to the surface of the two larger knobs is 10.25" as seen here.

Does anyone know if the original hub caps would fit in these wheels? If the originals won't work, does anyone know what style Chevy dog dish cap would work with this style rim? Thanks for any help!

those are post-60 wheels, the 58 caps won't fit, although later truck caps look OK

Thanks for the help red58! Now when you say they won't fit is that because they physically won't fit in the wheels center opening or is it because there are no clips in the center to hold the cap in place? I found the clips for sale online so I was thinking I could add them to my wheels but if the cap is too big to fit in the hole then that's not going to work.

I was thinking my wheels were post 60 based on looks but wasn't sure. If I can't get the original style to fit what I have I was thinking these might look good.

I believe these are correct for post 60 rims?

those do strike me as 61-66, I think they'd fit the lumpy rims .... the dimensions of the original caps just don't match the later wheel centers, I doubt you could position the clips to hold the caps, and the lumps would be outside the rim of the caps

There are a couple of yards here in East TN that have trucks with wheels. Here are their numbers.

You're going to need the three clip rims. They are 56 to 59 only. These will have a 5" bead width. Available in 15" and 16".

Beware the 6 clip rim, they are 4.5" bead width. 55 and older ran those.

Thanks for the help guys. I was hoping to save some money and make what I have work but looks like I'll have to find the correct rims after all. For now these work and maybe I can find some caps that will look decent till I can get the real thing. Thanks again!
