If one ordered a new '58 Apache pickup, a chrome grille and/or a chrome front bumper could be optionally specified. Does anyone know what the grille and bumper options cost in 1958? (US pricing of course)

Hy C. Dan Pannell, I'm not sure if just a chrome grille and bumper could be ordered separately, but in Canada option #347 included a chrome bumper, grille, headlight bezels, and hub caps. I have no idea of the cost of the option.

Unfortunately, the GM Heritage Library's 1958 Truck Specifications Manual is missing the Options & Accessories pages.

Maybe someone has a 1958 USA Truck Data Book?

If your truck is Canadian built, you can pay to have a vintage report pulled.
I did this for my 59 GMC and learned some interesting facts. For example, in 1959, in Canada, only 2697 GMC trucks were built with a short wheel base. I also learned the date (February 12, 1959) the truck was shipped to Vikar Motors in Tisdale Saskatchewan.
