I have just about all the truck tools and this is the missing link, you gotta love these tools  I want to restore this rusty old thing and want too bring it back as new. Does anyone have an original picture or literature on it? It appears that the pre vent window trucks had a small indent on the top side of bottom grill bar for crank handle to pass through. I don't know about the 1954 and 1955 first series grilles.

There is no "indent" in the grill sheet metal for a crank tool.
Some people have reported having a "crankable" harmonic balancer on a 54 truck (with the 3/8" belt groove, introduced in 1953). After all, it's just a piece of round bar stock with
two 90° bends and a pin thru the end.
