I have just located a crank handle for my 50 AD. I have just about all the truck tools and this is the missing link, you gotta love these tools smile
I want to restore this rusty old thing and want too bring it back as new.
Does anyone have an original picture or literature on it?
It appears that the pre vent window trucks had a small indent on the top side of bottom grill bar for crank handle to pass through.
Any help would be great.

That's a good question, about the indent in the lower grille bar. My '53 has that indent, but it's not an original grille to my truck.

Not sure if I understand the question, but yes, there is an
indent in the lower/inner grill bar for the hand crank.

all of the 1947-1953 A.D. grilles have the indent for the crank tool. I don't know about the 1954 and 1955 first series grilles.
I'm sure someone will have that answer soon.

There was no indent for a crank on any of my 1954 harmonic balancers.

There is no "indent" in the grill sheet metal for a crank tool.

Some people have reported having a "crankable" harmonic balancer on a 54 truck (with the 3/8" belt groove, introduced in 1953). Perhaps their 54 truck had a "leftover" 1954 balancer?

Thanks Denny for the info.
Where did you get those measurements? Do you have a pic of the original?
Thanks again John.

Nope, just made what I though it would have looked like.
After all, it's just a piece of round bar stock with
two 90° bends and a pin thru the end.
