The emergency brake release mechanism has a "U" shaped bracket that mounts to the toe board.

The replaced sheet metal has no hole for that, can someone give me a good location measurement so the works correctly.

Can you use the parking brake as a template?
Just bolt it up and transfer the holes

oh, I just saw the spring under the rod and release in floor,don't remember that. Have to look through parts

is it soft or stiff.... how long ?

How are those felts supposed to go in that pocket ?

a piece of felt slides into the pocket

brake pedal-rod and clutch pedal-rod felt seals (go into separate "pockets" in the floor.

is this what you are referring to with respect to the parking brake rod that goes through the floor?

If I remember right there is a leather seal that goes in the pocket

The bumpers go on the outside

I think I got the leather seal in one of the kits linked above.

The release rod and hardware in my album is not original but is what I found on the truck.

The leather seal is shown at the link above: "is this what you are referring to with respect to the parking brake rod that goes through the floor?"

felt came with leather pieces, felt is 1/2 thick and pocket is 3/16...not sure how to get it in

A washer and cotter pin hold it on the rod

DADS50 is correct, tHe leather goes in the pocket and the felt is the bumper, (goes on the outside then a washer and cotter pin)

ok, so that is in place

now to get that ebrake rod reassembled and adjusted

threaded end is bent at clevis so this will be fun

anyone ever refabricate a new rod, using the old clevis? thinking of redoing mine... Mike

I am curious about that,in case I can't save this one.

Maybe one can be made from threaded rod.

was thinking about threading the ends of a straight rod, and probably have to re-tap the ends of the clevis.. the cost of new repop ones are about $80, and sure that used ones are up there in price too. Maybe a little machine work will do the trick. Mike
